Scientific Accompanying Research (BF2020)
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Müller led the interdisciplinary research team of the Scientific Accompanying Research (BF) which supports the networking of all projects funded by the BMWi in the area of energy in buildings and neighborhoods.
Overall Goal of the Project
The accompanying scientific research evaluated the various technology research and model projects in the research area of ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN across projects and transferred them into a central database. In addition, the accompanying scientific research supported the networking of research projects and the transfer of research results into practice.
The consortium worked as an interdisciplinary team. It consisted of the following partners:
- Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate (ERC EBC) und Institute for Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (e3D), RWTH Aachen University
- Institute for Environment, Safety and Energy Technology (UMSICHT), Institut for Building Physics (IBP) and Advanced System Technology Branch of Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploration (IOSB-AST), Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft
Wissenschaftliche Querschnittsforschung und Trendanalysen
The cross-sectional research served the evaluation of cross-project developments, trends and obstacles as well as the identification of research needs. Trend analyses, cross-evaluations and deep dives were published in the publication series Wissenschaftliche Begleitforschung.
The central element of the Scientific Accompanying Research was the digital map ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN. The interactive database offers information on the funded projects to different user groups. Funding recipients, experts and the interested public can get an overview of the research landscape and search for specific projects or topics.
Scientific Advice and Guidelines
In order to advise grant recipients in the area of monitoring and data management, the Scientific Accompanying Research developed guidelines for master data collection and measurements of demonstration buildings and siatricts. A monitoring forum was held once a year.
The Scientific Accompanying Research organized regularly scientific events for different target groups. The semi-annual meetings of project leaders served the exchange and networking of the funded projects. Every two years the congress ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN took place, where actors from science, economy, politics and society entered into dialogue. In expert workshops and think tanks, experts discussed specific issues in small groups.
