The building-physics conference in Dusseldorf was well attended with nearly 500 visitors. The topics ranged from the theoretical to practical applications in the fields of noise control, room acoustics, energy supply and refurbishment.

The presentation of Dipl.-Ing. Tanja Osterhage was entitled "rebound effect in the renovation of existing buildings". The focus of the research project funded by the BMWi " Auswirkungen des Rebound-Effekts bei der Sanierung von Bestandsgebäuden" is the analysis of various centralized and decentralized domestic hot water and heating systems and the impact of these systems on the energy consumption and the user behavior. The presentation shows different refurbishment layouts, the installed measurement technique and discussed in more detail on individual aspects of energy use (cooling, heating).
