Interdisciplinary Factory Planning: study excursion

​A study excursion took place on October 21. and 22. 2019 as part of the course Interdisciplinary Factory Planning (IDFP) near the tri-border area of Germany, France and Switzerland. On the first day the Vitra Campus was visited with works by Herzog de Meuron, Frank Gehry and many other world-renowned architecture firms. On the second day the group visited the factory, which specializes in manufacturing and looks for a new location. For students from disciplinaries architecture, civil engineering, production and energy technology, the task is to create a design for the new building in interdisciplinary cooperation. After having lunch together and a Q&A session with the managing directors, the group drove from the Black Forest back to Aachen.
