Increasing energy costs and the necessary reduction of CO2 emissions requires an energy efficient and sustainable usage of all available energy sources. The primary energy consumption of typical private and industrial energy users is elaborated. Based on process analysis, we develop methods for increasing the energy efficiency.

The course closes with the introduction of economic methods to evaluate processes and systems of the energy sector.

The lecture "Energy Economics" is funded by quality improvement funds. The contact person for the use of quality improvement funds at our institute is Dr.-Ing. Rita Streblow. Further information regarding the use of quality improvement funds in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering can be found on the website of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
