Publications on craftwork capacities for building modernization
Limited craftwork capacities are considered to be one of the key challenges to modernize the German and European building stock. Two recent open-access papers of the EBC therefore address this issue:
In one article in the journal Scientific Data published by the Nature Group with associated repository, we present data on typical craftwork realization times of modernization measures by skilled craftworkers. This data was collected based on expert interviews and can be used in simulation and optimization methods for determining modernization strategies for existing buildings.

In another article in the journal Energies published by MPDI, we show the application of this data within long-term modernization strategies for typical individual buildings. Significant differences are shown in strategies where craftwork capacities are taken into account.
