The Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate offers courses for undergraduate students in "Mechanical Engineering" as well as for the consecutive graduate programs "Energy Engineering" and "General Mechanical Engineering". These courses can also be accepted as electives in other undergraduate and graduate programs.

The lectures mainly deal with the components and the conceptual design of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems with the integration of renewable energies in the building sector as well as basic operations of energy technology.

The offered modules are based on the foundational courses Thermodynamics and Hydrodynamics that are compulsory courses in the undergraduate program "Mechanical Engineering".

Project, bachelor's and master's theses can be written about theoretic, economic, experimental or simulative topics. The topic is typically related to current research projects. The institute also supervises proactive theses as well as theses that are written in cooperation with external industry partners.

The following pages describe the offered courses and the preparation of student theses at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate.
