Model-based energy analysis of shoppingcenters

In the past the energy consumption of shopping malls, which have developed into a well-accepted Form of retailing since 1964, was not sufficiently considered. Because of the high energy density and the increasing quantity of shopping malls there are large energy saving potentials for these building structures. To identify these potentials, it is important to model the true structure of energy demand. Current research aims to develop sustainable energy concepts to reduce the total energy demand. The aim of the thesis is the elaboration and implementation of a data model for the creation of a generic simulation model for shopping centers. With the model the energy consumption can be identified, which includes the usage and equipment technology.
