Solar Decathlon HouseCopyright: EBC
This prototype building, the former CounterEntropy house, is currently situated at the compound of the Forschungszentrum Jülich. It was built by a team of students from RWTH Aachen University and participated in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2012 in Madrid, being ranked 5th out of 18 teams. It was built according to passive-house standards and features an open-room architecture with a floor area of about 47 m². During the reconstruction phase in Jülich the technical building concept was changed within current research work to a fully-electrical home. The building can be still used by EBC for research work.
