The EBC presents exhibits from research projects in the field of smart energy supply at this year's Hannover Messe.

The first conference within the new funding initiative ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN was held on 30 and 31 January 2017 at the EUREF campus in Berlin. The conference focused on research topics considering efficient technologies and intelligent concepts for electricity and heat applications. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) is funding the project.

The EBC was represented with four presentations at this year's DKV Congress.

At the Ventilation 2015 conference Paul Mathis has presented a paper by the title “Heat Removal in Shopping Centers with High Cooling Loads by Air-Water Systems with Small Fresh Air Amount and High Cold Water Supply Temperature”. This is a collaborative work of several EBC researchers, including air quality research by Jana Panašková, Daniela HEGEMANN and Verena BRAUNSTEIN as well as optimization of active chilled beam systems by Henning Freitag and overall system analysis with CFD by Paul Mathis himself. The paper earned a best paper award.

The Cisbat 2015 "Future Buildings and Districts - Sustainability form Nano to Urban Scale" took place from 9^th to 11^th September in Lausanne.

Good news the GUtech ECOHAUS has received further recognition in the region.

 At the "Middle East & North Africa Interior Design & Architecture Awards 2015" held in Dubai this week, we were shortlisted as "Best Residential Project (Large)" and won in the category "Best Sustainable Project".

Most of the technical sessions took place at the second day of BauSIM. Michael Wetter was awarded the best paper award at the Conference Dinner in the evening.

A paper about adaptive control of heating systems was published in the July Issue of SHT (a german magazin). We reported the results of the first field test we conducted with our self-designed adaptive control system. The article is available only in German language.

On May 21^st, Jan Reinhardt successfully defended his master theses in front of staff members of EBC.

Carl Punkenburg, Markus Siethoff, Pascal Block, Michael Staszewki and Julian Niebel successfully presented and defended their final theses in front of staff members and student workers of EBC on May 5^th resp. May 6^th.

On April 25^th, Daniel Orth and Christoph Klöpping successfully defended their bachelor theses in front of staff members of EBC.

Philipp Theilmann, Denis Sepoetro and Stefan Mühlenfeld successfully presented and defended their final theses in front of staff members and student workers of EBC on April 16^th.

Reza Tavakoli sucessfully defended his master thesis on April, 8^th. Martin Renner's and Markus Simon's defense took place on April 9^th in front of staff members and student workers of EBC.

EBC member Michael Adolph joined the 14^th Enercity Dialog in Hannover. This years topic was "Energiewende in Germany - how to carry on?"

Starting April, 1^st Azeem Abdul, Philipp Piscke and Peter Remmen will join the workforce of the institute.

From March 9^th to 14^th the EBC patricipated at the 16^th Hermann-Rietschel-Colloquium in Hirschegg, Kleinwalsertal.

Five members of EBC joined the Modelica-Conference in Lund, Sweden, from March 10^th-12^th 2014. The Annex 60 Meeting that took place directly before the conference was joined by three institute members.
