Fields of activity

Tobias Burgholz deals with the well-being of humans indoors with regard to air quality, thermal comfort, room acoustics and illumination. He primarily focuses on the improvement of room and learning climate in school buildings.


Tobias Burgholz studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University until 2017 and majored in energy engineering. During and after his studies he worked at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings in the research group Occupant Behavior and Comfort. Since June 2018, Tobias Burgholz has been employed at the Heinz Trox Wissenschafts gGmbH in Aachen as a research associate and as a PhD student continues to be actively involved in the Occupant Behavior and Comfort team at the EBC.
