Fields of activity
Within the EU-funded programme “Horizon 2020” Verena Dannapfel works in the project "PLUG-N-HARVEST". The main goal of this project is the development and examination of modular façade systems to be used in retrofitting. Besides the physical aspect of strengthening the heat transmitting exterior surface, the implementation of decentralized HVAC systems combined with the application of renewable energies will be a major point of investigation.
Verena Dannapfel, M. Sc. studied civil engineering and achieved her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at RWTH Aachen University. Afterwards she worked several years as a construction manager in retrofit projects and supervised operations in the fields of dismantling, shell and interior construction as well as building technology. Since October 2017 she is a research associate at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate at RWTH Aachen University.
