Fields of activity

Christian Vering investigates the performance of heat pump circuits from the refrigerant selection to the system controller. For this purpose, he uses applied optimization methods and couples them with dynamic simulation models and hardware-in-the-loop experiments to validate relevant assumptions. Considered in an integrated way, the methods aim at identifying the influence of the heat pump operating strategy on the design of the system and vice versa. The whole process is carried out in the purpose-built refrigerant laboratory. Further information can be found on ResearchGate and LinkedIn

CV

Christian Vering studied Mechanical Engineering from October 2010 to June 2016 at RWTH Aachen University. During his master’s studies, he focused on Renewable Energy Engineering. Doing a six-month internship at Porsche AG, he investigated heat management strategies of recreational vehicles. Christian also worked seven semesters as a student assistant at the Chair of Technical Thermodynamics in education and research. After completing his studies, he took up his position as a research associate at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate.
