Fields of activity

Thomas Schreiber is a member of the team building automation. His major research fields are cloud-based monitoring systems and methods for observation and optimization of building and district energy systems. In particular, he develops monitoring concepts and data analysis strategies for an adaptive cooling network. The aim is to provide a database as well as analysis and visualization routines for various user groups. A particular focus is the use of the data to create a framework for the development and improvement of complex control strategies.

Thomas Schreiber started working at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate in August 2018. After completing his dual vocational training as a construction mechanic, he began his studies in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University in October 2010, where he completed his master's degree in energy engineering in April 2018. In addition to smaller projects at the Institute of Jet Propulsion and Turbomachinery and at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate, Thomas Schreiber worked at RheinEnergie AG.
