Fields of activity

Alexander Kümpel works on intelligent and innovative control concepts for building energy systems. His research focus is the development of energy-efficient control strategies for modular subsystems as well as for entire energy supply systems. Both simulation and experimentation are used to develop and evaluate control strategies.

CV

Alexander Kümpel studied mechanical engineering for his bachelor's degree and energy engineering for the master's degree at the RWTH Aachen University from 2011 to 2017. Since March 2017, he has been working as a research associate at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate at the RWTH Aachen University, and is the leader of the building automation team since August 2020.
