Information
Fields of activity
Tobias Fröhlingsdorf deals with ventilation challenges and focuses on the optimisation of decentralised indoor air conditioning through self-sufficient ventilation units with integrated reversible heat pumps. He uses dynamic system simulations for energy evaluation and control development and tests the developed algorithms on a functional model. He also investigates aspects of flow guidance, thermal comfort and acoustics.
CV
Tobias Fröhlingsdorf completed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in mechanical engineering, specialising in automotive engineering, at Cologne University of Applied Sciences. During his studies, he worked for over two years in various functions at the Chair of Machine Design and Hydraulic Systems. After completing his studies, he started his professional life at FEV Europe in Aachen. There he intensified his expertise in simulation technology and specialised in thermal management in vehicles. Since October 2021, he has been working at the Chair of Building and Indoor Climate Technology as a research associate.
