15th international Modelica Conference in Aachen
The 15th International Modelica Conference took place in Aachen from October 9 to 11, 2023. The conference was organized by RWTH Aachen University together with the Modelica Association and Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. Over 300 participants from all over the world discussed dynamic simulation methods and results. We were able to win Dr. Dirk Zimmer and Dr. Bruno Lüdemann as scientific impulses. In his keynote speech, Dr. Dirk Zimmer provided impulses on the topic of "Dealing with complex models and how to use the idealization of physics to our advantage". Dr. Bruno Lüdemann's keynote speech on "Relevance of dynamic simulation of complex systems in building technology - review and outlook" highlighted the scientific work in the context of industrial developments. In addition to the scientific exchange, there was an exhibition of the sponsors of the conference. There, science and industry were able to discuss relevant issues directly and make contacts.
The team Building Energy Systems was directly involved in the conference with two contributions. Laura Maier presented a collaborative work on the topic "Comparative Study and Validation of Photovoltaic Model Formulations for the IBPSA Modelica Library based on Rooftop Measurement Data" and David Jansen presented a method for the integration of Continuous Integration under the title "MoCITempGen: Modelica Continuous Integration Template Generator".
After the pandemic and numerous online conferences, the international Modelica Conference offered all participants a welcome opportunity for lively personal exchange and constructive discussions on current research results and potential collaborations.
