New completed project: defrost methods
The aim of this research project was to provide an improved basis for the conceptual design of electric and hot gas defrosting systems for air coolers by means of experimental and accompanying numerical investigations. A combination of numerical and experimental studies was necessary for the project, since no sufficient validation data could be derived from the literature data.
The simulation was, however, indispensable, since it was only with this that individual parameters could be varied. The development of the numerical model was carried out at the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer. The experimental investigations were carried out in a climate chamber at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate.
