1st place ranking for the FUBIC energy district at the ODH District Awards
On the evening of November 29, the FUBIC All-Electricity research team was awarded first place in the "Innovation" category of the Open District Hub (ODH) e.V.'s District Awards. The research team, consisting of the WISTA Management GmbH, BTB mbH, aedifion, FU Berlin and RWTH Aachen University, is shaping the transformation process of an old military hospital in the FUBIC district into an innovation center. Its energy system is solely based on electricity and enables coupling of the grid, mobility and building sector. The ODH is committed to a successful energy transition and the development of climate-neutral and liveable cities. The District Awards were awarded for the first time this year during the Autumn Forum in Munich and are intended to recognize outstanding energy disctrict projects in Germany. In the "Innovation" category, the focus was on neighborhood projects that provide particularly high added value for the energy transition. Among other things, the creativity and innovativeness of the concept, the novelty of the technologies and the realization of a digital infrastructure were used as criteria.
