43rd AIVC - 11th TightVent & 9th Venticool Conference 2023 in Copenhagen
On October 4-5, 2023, the "43rd AIVC - 11th TightVent & 9th Venticool Conference" 2023 was held in Copenhagen. INIVE (International Network for Information on Ventilation and Energy Performance), AIVC (Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre), TightVent Europe and Venticool jointly organized this conference under the theme "Ventilation, IEQ and health in sustainable buildings". Thanks to the cooperation of the various organizers, the topics were spread over a wide range. The main topics of the conferences were Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), building tightness and ventilative cooling. Moreover, due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, many contributions focused on air purification and infection risks.
Three research associates represented the EBC at the conference. Martin Kremer's paper "Impact of optimized residential ventilation with energy recovery on health and well-being" presented energy saving opportunities using membrane-based enthalpy exchangers. Paul Seiwert's paper "Thermography-based assessment of mean radiant temperature and occupancy in healthcare facilities" showed methods for contactless measurement of radiant temperature and occupancy in healthcare facilities using infrared cameras. Nhat Nguyen presented a new wet scrubber concept for particle removal with low pressure losses in his poster "Experimental study of an innovative wet scrubber concept in regard to particle filtration and pressure loss".
