EnOB Symposium 2014

26/03/2014

Members of the E.ON Energy Research Center gave two keynotes and displayed five posters on the symposium on energy optimized Building 2014 in Essen.

The EnOB Symposium 2014 with the topic "Innovations in the new-build and refurbishment sectors" take place in Essen from March 20th to 21st . It was was meant as a venue to present research results with the topics of energy efficiency, indoor comfort, cost reduction as well as lifecycle and energy systems optimization." The conference proceedings and poster can be downloaded from this site (proceedings and posters are mainly in german).

The E.ON Energy Research Center was present with several topics:

Professor Dirk Müller from the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate gave a talk on the topic of "Adaptive Heating- and Ventilation Control", presenting the possible energy savings if the heating and ventilation demand is automatically matched to the users demand. To ensure easy utilization by the user, they just need to communicate if the are uncomfortable cold or warm.

Alexander Michalski, member of the Institute for Applied Geophysics and Geothermal Energy talked on the subject of "Exergetically optimized control of a heating and cooling supply of a building by a dynamic control system and integragion of a completley monitored bore hole heat exchanger field". This project aims operate the main building of the E.ON Energy Research Center exergetically efficient using the extensive monitoring sytems of the building.

Furthermore the Solar Decathlon 2012 in Madrid was mentioned. RWTH took part of the competition with an own Team, the team was supported by staff and students of the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate.

Besides the given talks the E.ON Energy Research Center was present with five posters:

Johannes Fütterer: Exergetically optimized operationg control of the energy supply: Integration of a bore hole heat exchanger field.

Roozbeh Sangi: Exergy analysis of buildings with geothermal heat pump systems

Jana Panasková: New Energy Concepts for the Shopping Center of the Future (EffShop)

Nina Kopmann: Adaptive Heating and Air-Conditioning Sytems

Armin Knels: Solar Decathlon 2012 participation of RWTH Aachen University (mad)
